I've been using a method to filter Acrylic rinse water, which is kind to the environment and saves the plumbing!
First I pour all the dirty rinse water into a bucket and add a solution of aluminium sulphate and powdered lime to flocculate the paint:
When the paint separates, I pour it into another bucket through a jumbo filter.
After a few hours, the clean water filters through and ready for safe disposal!
